As-salam alaikum. I hope everyone's well. This is a quick blog about transportation within the haramain itself for those who are traveling on their own with the full package (without travel included) from the travel agent or with those who've taken a (DIY) package but without the travel itself.
Now there are three or four ways but three (realistic) ways that people can actually travel. One of the ways and more common one is taxis. Once you land at the airport you as soon as you get out of the airport itself you know they'll be taxis waiting for you and you can jump in and go. A safer away, I think, would be if you downloaded either the UBER app or the CREAM app either one of them two. Then when you land then you can actually you know go into the system (app) of either one of these two apps and hail a taxi and get a taxi to you to pick you up from the airport and take you to Makkah or Madinah, whichever Airport you're going to.
Then you can keep
on using the app itself. It's more
secure, the the cars are more
cleaner and okay might be slightly more
expensive but at least you've got peace
of mind you don't need to haggle or
anything with the driver. So that's like
one way of traveling. Another
would be through the coaches, the SAPTCO coaches, so for example you catch a
taxi to Makkah and you do your umrah and then if you want to go to Madinah, instead of
catching a taxi to Madinah you can
catch a taxi just outside the haram
into the taxi base sorry the coach
station. I think it will cost
around 90 to 100 riyals depending on
if you're going to on a VIP coach or a
standard coach. The standard coach is slightly cheaper. So with the VIP anyway it's a
hundred riyals per person which isn't
bad at all.
It's like takes five hours roughly and
they also give you a small snack
meal and it lands exactly within the
haram, not within the haram, but
just outside the the main hotels like the
Crowne Plaza I think is the the
hotel itself. It stops there.
For 100 riyals or 90 riyals, for the VIP,
you can't fault it.
Another method of traveling is, the
latest one, which is the trains.
But again with the train, you need to
catch a taxi to just go outside the
the haram. It takes 10 minutes to drive
roughly to get to the station and you can
catch a train from there. It will take to Madinah, it takes roughly three hours.
It stops one or two stops depending on
which train you are going on.
There are about four trains leaving every day and this is slightly more expensive
compared to the other methods but it's
again depending on how many people are
going. Per person on an economy costs
35 pounds per person and a child is half
but if you go on a business class, it will be 55 pounds and child is half. So if there's
one or two of you going, yeah why not, you can go to the train. But if
there's five of you in a group or six
then I would look at the other methods
either the SAPTCO or the Uber taxi (even standard taxi). With the taxi
it's door-to-door. They come and
pick you from the door and then take
you to the door of the hotel you're
going to. So, another fourth method
I did mention, is to take a taxi to Jeddah and then from
there catch a flight to Madinah and so on.
But that's slightly more expensive (method).
But the other three are the viable options depending on
the size of your group. So I hope this
helps insha Allah any more questions just
put them into the comment itself and
insha Allah I'll try to create
videos answering your questions.
so for now Salam alaikum warahmatullah.
